SenseSpray® in-crop targeted spot spraying

With optical sensors, the patent-pending SenseSpray system enables sprayers to not only Just Spray the Weeds in fallow fields, but also has enabled targeted application of fungicides and insecticides in the early growth stages of row crops, along with the defoliation of cotton. In addition SenseSpray has been used for the dessication of crops prior to harvesting.

All of these applications utilising SenseSpray are leading to a reduction in chemical usage,  through targeted application.

What is Green on Green?

Green on Green (GoG) is a new feature currently in development and field testing phase for SenseSpray® that enables the detection and control of weeds within growing crops. Building on SenseSpray's proven green-on-brown spot spraying technology, GoG uses advanced optical camera algorithms to identify weeds in cotton, corn, sorghum, soybeans, and other row crops delivering precision weed control that maximizes crop health while minimizing chemical use.

 

How does Green on Green work?

SenseSpray's optical camera system uses advanced algorithms to analyse crop vegetation in real time. Green on Green extends this technology to differentiate weeds from the crop itself within a growing field. When a weed is detected, the system triggers the sprayer's solenoid to apply herbicide  where needed, not to the entire field.

 

Which crops can use Green on Green?

The initial launch includes cotton, corn, sorghum, and soybeans. Agtecnic is conducting field testing across these crops and expects to expand to additional row crops and crop types over time as development and validation progress.

 

When will Green on Green be available?

Agtecnic is currently conducting extensive field testing and validation across multiple farms and crops throughout 2026 and into 2027. A full public release is anticipated following the successful completion of this testing phase. 

 

Can I upgrade my existing SenseSpray system to use Green on Green?

Yes. Green on Green will be available as a software update via the SenseSpray app for all systems deployed since 2024. Once released, users can enable the feature through a one-time feature unlock code with no subscription required. Depending on the sprayer configuration, some existing cameras may need to be repositioned, or additional cameras may be required to achieve optimal performance.

 

Will Green on Green cost extra? Is it a subscription?

Green on Green will be available as a one-time feature unlock and is not subscription based. Users will purchase one off unlock code to activate the feature on their system. Pricing will be communicated closer to the full public release.
